YouTuber of the Week - Danibo
As always, YouTube is a source of binge entertainment for me. I admit and I am totally not ashamed. During my most recent binge, this past weekend, I encountered a woman that goes by the YouTube handle "Danibo". She is extremely beautiful, very intelligent, and a very thorough individual when it came to explaining anything and everything. I could tell she was a woman of intelligence by her use of the English language and how she referred to different items. It was quite refreshing. She is not a "major" YouTuber, but she is well on her way. She participates in many collaborative efforts amongst smaller YouTubers, which I think shows a great sense of community. I am hoping to participate in some of the challenges she is a part of as a sort of "silent partner". She is bright, witty, and quite endearing. Check Out Her Latest Video Below!

A Palette & A Partner - Week 9
Still in the process of rotating my collection and attempting to get better use out of my makeup. I have decided that if I have a product in the rotation for one week, and I don't use it, I will put in the next week's rotation. If I don't use it the second week, then I will give away. I have been donating the majority of my makeup to the Mission of Yahweh here in Houston, where my friend Deanna works. The ladies really enjoy receiving the makeup and my friend occasionally sends me pictures of the ladies with the makeup! What an amazing feeling. So happy that I can give back to others and particularly in the area of beauty and skin care. Nothing makes me feel better than feeling like I am looking my best and putting my best foot forward. I imagine that these ladies might feel the same way. If I can contribute to increasing another women's confidence, then I feel like I am doing my part! Here's this week's group of products in the week 9 rotation!

Product Review - Pixi: Glowtonic
Price & Purchase Process & Packaging
My first experience with the brand Pixi by Petra was with their infamous Glowtonic. I purchased a 250 ml bottle for $29 directly from the Pixi website along with several over items. Shipping is free when you purchase $25 or more, which was a great incentive to try this product. I was initially introduced to the product by a YouTuber beauty blogger. She talked about how amazing the product was regarding texture and resurfacing, which is my number one concerning my skin. The package arrived a head of time and the items were securely package. I received everything I ordered with out incident. On the Pixi website the product details are as follows: "Exfoliates and purifies the skin with Glycolic Acid; Ginseng improves circulation and energizes; Aloe vera soothes and hydrates; Refines the appearance of pores; Gently accelerates cell renewal to reveal a brighter, glowing complexion; Balances, heals and soothes for radiant, healthier looking skin; Alcohol free; Suitable for all skin types; Not tested on animals; Volume: 250ml". The product has 5% glycolic acid and is marketed as a vital part of any skin care regiment. The product is housed in a see through, orange tinted plastic bottle with a mint green cap. I have a plastic bottle that has an aliquot reservoir that I use to put my toners in, so I added the Glowtonic to the bottle and set it out for the next morning.

Product Review - Krisanna Ann Cosmetics: Olympus Palette
Price & Purchase Process & Packaging
I am making an effort to expand my eyeshadow collection to include more Indie brands. I have purchased a couple of palette from independent companies, and Krisanna Ann Cosmetics was on my list. The eyeshadow palette that I purchased is called the "Olympus" palette and it cost a very reasonable $20 for 15 matte & foil shades, which are a very decent size. On the company's website it sites the following description, "A combination of 15 eye shadow colors in both matte and foil. colors ranging from white highlight to deep black tones and transition earth tones in between. This palette truly has a color for everyone!" I was eager to purchase this palette because of the arrangement and variety of colors, and I am always up to try something new and different! I purchased the palette, but when it arrived in the mail, it was completely shattered and unusable. I was heartbroken. I contacted customer service and to my surprise the person who responded was the owner, Ms. Krisanna Conrad. Ms. Conrad was very polite and more than accommodating. Initially, there was a misunderstanding about what happened to the palette, but once we cleared that up, she was more than happy to replace the palette without any issues. One of things that works in favor of smaller Indie companies is their ability to provide personalized customer service - if the choose to do so. I was extremely pleased with her attitude and her willingness to replace the palette and it made a great impression on me as a reviewer. The second palette arrive unharmed and was packaged in a simple black plastic-type palette with the word "Olympus" on the top.
Pigmentation & Color
Payoff & Performance
You take a chance when you buy independent brands. You never quite know what you will get, especially if the company only operates online. I swatched all 15 shades and they were surprisingly consistent & pigmented. They were not patchy or even powdery (which can be good or bad depending on who you are talking to), but beautiful are indicative of the color represented in the pan. So, a lot of people say that swatches are not sufficient because of the oils that are on your fingers - that you need to apply to your eyes to get a real indication of if the shadows are in good. I disagree. I apply eyeshadow with my finger all the time, so I don't see the difference. But, for the purposes of a thorough review, I decided to go ahead and create a look. I was quite pleased with the way the shadows blended and applied. There was a tad bit of fall out, but that's not a big deal to me. I was able to do a complete look with the palette and it turned out amazing. I did pull one shadow from my Electric palette for a "kick", but the eye look would have been fine without it! It definitely was more than worth the $20 I spent, and with the superior level of customer service, as an individual consumer, I could not ask for more.
Overall Product
Presentation
This is definitely a company that is worth trying. If you don't like what you get, you won't lose a ton of money, but personally I find this a great palette that is more than sufficient for any person regardless of their skin tone. I think it is a very universally friendly palette and has something that everyone will enjoy. One thing that our society is getting away from is personalization. Everything is automated and outsourced in the name of efficiency....I don't know if efficiency is worth sacrificing the personal touch that comes with good customer service. Krianna Ann Cosmetics provided me an excellent customer experience along with a damn good quality product. I could not be happier!

A Palette & A Partner - Week 8
I am feeling very good about the depth & variety in my collection and I am seeing that every week as I rotate through it! Yes, I know....I have a lot of makeup. I am aware, but I am also very pleased with how well I am utilizing it. So, I am a nerd at heart and because of my nerdiness, ALL of my makeup, including backups and single shadows, are memorialized in several word documents according to categories (High-End, Affordable, Luxury, Small High-End, etc.). I got this idea from YouTuber, Stephanie Nicole, who incidentally is this week's YouTuber of the Week on my blog. Check out that post here! Here's the group of gorgeous & lovely cosmetics I am rocking this week!

YouTuber of the Week - Nobody's Beauty Guru
I love it when I get to see regular, every day women that are passionate about makeup, give objective opinions based on their opinions, instead of pushing promo codes and sponsored videos. That may soon judgmental, but I don't care. I like real women (& men), with a genuine interests in beauty, makeup and skin care, and can consistently be objective, thorough and honest. So, I introduce to you Julie. In her "About" section it simply reads, "1 woman with a passion for makeup. 0 beauty gurus. Follow for simple hauls, tips, and reviews you can actually use." Absolutely refreshing! I related to Julie so much. She isn't an expert or guru or anything like that, but like me she's an expert at what SHE likes and what works for HER! Love it!
