***Bougie Brie's Year End Favorites of 2017***

My Top Ten Favorite “Best in Beauty” of 2017

  1. Wet n Wild Photo Focus Foundation - One of the best drugstore foundations to hit the market in a very long time. This foundation is suitable for many skin types and comes in an adequate shade range. This foundation can be located at most drugstores, Target, and Walmart and will most likely be under $5. A great medium coverage foundation that is buildable and can go toe to toe with many high-end foundations. Definitely a best buy!
  2. Colurpop Eyeshadow Palettes – It’s just too difficult to ignore the Colourpop eyeshadow palette explosion in 2016. Colourpop not only invaded the Sephora market in the latter part of the year, but the company cranked out 11 top selling eyeshadow palettes, all of which I own, and each of which are unique and diverse in color scheme, yet easy enough for the average everyday consumer to create some slamming looks. Going into 2018 on a #nobuy/#lowbuy, I have limited my purchasing of eyeshadow palettes to certain brands and Colourpop is on that list!
  3. Kat Von D Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter Palette – I did not want to purchase this item. I didn’t think it was appropriate for my skin type and honestly, I didn’t think that it would be flattering on my 37-year-old steadily aging skin, but I couldn’t ignore the pigment depth and thought it would be an incredible eyeshadow topper or lid color. I was quite happy with the result and for New Year’s Eve I rocked this highlighter palette on my eyes. Intense color pay off, iridescence the stars would be jealous of and incredible product versatility. Good Job Kat Von D!
  4. Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation – Old Faithful!!! An oldie but goodie that I revived this winter and I suddenly remembered why I love this foundation so much. Although you have to be careful in terms of the application of this product, so that it doesn’t end up cakey or too thick, this foundation is MATTE, yet beautiful. Perfect for combination to oily skin and a beautiful shade selection, don’t let this one pass you by!
  5. Strobe Cosmetics – Yes, I wrote a very detailed review of Strobe Cosmetics and I didn’t enjoy my customer experience, but I cannot deny this company makes a hell of a product. I ordered their entire collection and the range of colors was amazingly beautiful, ranging from neutrals, to cool tones, to warm tones, in deep and vibrant colors. Easy to apply and the staying power that we all long for in a quality eyeshadow, they are definitely one to check out!
  6. Makeup On The Go (Cool Down Eyeshadow Palette) – Surprisingly one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes of 2017. Received in a Boxycharm, this cool toned eyeshadow palette has the perfect combination of hues of purple and dynamic shimmers. Definitely one of the best Boxycharm of the year for me!
  7.  Too Faced Just Peachy Mattes Eyeshadow Palette – Most people know that I am not a huge Too Faced fan. Too gimmicky, too childish, and overwhelmingly girl and exponentially hyperfeminine, which is fine if you are into those things…..This woman is not. It’s no hidden fact that Too Faced launched more products than any other brand this year, and the one they absolutely knocked out the park was the Just Peachy Mattes Palette. So, creamy and divine…Blending in such an amazingly effortless manner. Love the packaging. Definitely the matte palette of the year from the high-end!
  8. Morphe X Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette – Initially, I chose not to jump on the bandwagon because although I own several Morphe palettes, I am not really a fan of their 35 pan eyeshadow palettes. Additionally, it was damn near impossible to catch the palette while it was in stock and I have enough stuff to do every day without having to camp out at my laptop waiting on a restock for a brand that I am kind of indifferent towards. I read a lot of reviews from noted, vetted bloggers, and watched videos from well-respected, honest YouTubers and I cracked. I think the palette is the best Morphe has ever put on and is worth the increase. Killer formula, admirable sense of versatility and both wearable work/ everyday shades, and intense pings of color for those of us who like to get a little festive with our eye look. Great product, good value and the best part it’s available at Ulta so you can rack up those platinum points!
  9. The Natasha Denona Sunset Palette – Of course, I had to talk about my girl Natasha! No year-end favorites list would be complete without mentioning this brand in one way or another. I am a Natasha Denona SUPERFAN, and I am not ashamed in anyway shape or form. This palette was the first warm tone palette of the year that I used consistently and without hesitation. The shade variation differs from your typical Modern Renaissance or Naked Heat, and the formula is undeniable the best in the business.  Get it!!! Just Get It!!
  10. The Natasha Denona Lila Palette – Are you kidding me? OF COURSE, I am going to mention my girl TWICE.  By far, my favorite makeup product of the year. Stunning purple and fuchsia shades, arranged in a beautiful symphony of a color palette that would suit anyone, with any skin tone, or shade preference. Just an immaculate representation of luxury buys at its finest!
