Bougie Brie's Monthly Best in Beauty - January 2018

January Top 5 Bougie Brie Best in Beauty

  • ·        BH Cosmetics Zodiac 25 Color Highlighter & Eyeshadow Palette – Before you even ask, no this isn’t the absolute best palette to come out in recent months, but if you are a fan of baked shadows, with significant pigment and sheen, this might be the palette for you. I quickly learned that the shadows (shimmer ones) lasted longer with a spritz of setting spray on my shader brush. I think this is an excellent products for teens & young adults, but even at 37, I rocked this palette significantly this month.
  • ·         Colourpop Semi-Precious Eyeshadow Palette – This is a metallic eyeshadow palette, so you know I live for it! I am definitely the type of woman that will rock just a metallic shadow on the lid and keep it pushing. Great product for a fantastic price. Beginner friendly, creamy, smooth, and easy to apply. Currently on sale on Colourpop’s website.
  • ·         Too Faced Gold Chocolate Bar – I make it no secret that I am not a huge Too Faced fan, but I think of their Chocolate Bar Palettes, this one is by far the best and worth the money. Again, I love metallic/foil finishes and this palette was made for me! With enough matte shades to produce a transition, crease, and smoked-out look, it is a palette that is particularly interested in bold foiled colors. Perfect for me, and glad to have it in my collection!
  • ·         LimeLight Perfect Mascara – I have been a die hard L”Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black Mascara fan for years, and if you say Too Faced’s Better Than Sex is a good mascara, you’re wrong, because L’Oreal’s mascara is virtually the same thing at a third of the price. BUT, I did a GRWM on Facebook Live where I tried out the LimeLight Perfect Mascara and I was super duper impressed. At $16, I would purchase this over Better Than Sex & L’Oreal Voluminous. It doesn’t clump, or run and it makes your eyelashes look natural, yet define! Well done, LimeLight.
  • ·         Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation – Although this wasn’t my first high-end foundation, I bought this foundation the day I began to blog and review. It has been an absolute solid in my makeup collection. As part of my #nobuy #lowbuy, I am trying to use up all the current foundations I have and bring my collection to about 6 total that I will consistently use. This is definitely in that group!
