Price & Purchase Process & Packaging:
First, I heard of this beans, which mostly advertises on Instagram, from Nicole with Young, Wild, &  Polished. She said the company sent her all of their current palettes and that they were incredible. I tend to take most recommendations of Nicole, so the next day I made an order. The website was relatively easy to navigate and maintained a simple but functional format, perfect for a first time buyer. I ordered the Hong Kong and Santorini Eyeshadow palette. The palettes retailed for $23 and you had to order$50 worth of product to get free shipping. There was definitely some very strategic marketing implemented with the price of the palettes, versus what was required to get free shipping, but all brands do that. I digress…The fact of the matter is that the products arrived ahead of schedule, well packaged, and unharmed. I ordered the palettes on 12/29/2018 and even with the New Year's mail traffic, it arrived on 01/02/2019. It also shipped the same day I ordered the products. Well done Mavie! Nothing but good things to say about my shopping & shopping experience!

Pigmentation & Color Payoff & Performance:
I watched Nicole from Young, Wild, and Polished swatch the shadows from one of the palettes during a makeup collection/declutter and I immediately began to research the company. In reached their social media presence which appeared friendly, appropriate, and customer service based, which are all things that I look for as both a consumer and reviewer. They are an Indie brand, which inspires a sort of grassroots, ground up type of operation that is appreciated by me as a single black female. I find more and more that major companies associated with even larger conglomerates are distasteful and unattractive. I'm all about the little man who starts from the ground up, maintains his integrity and he grows, and values customers over the bottom line and my experience is that Mavie Cosmetics is such an organization.

When I received my palettes I “Marco Polo” a friend with a live swatch, which she commented that it was “breath taking” and  she was “jealous” to which I replied with a snarky smile. The pants are all based upon destinations with a color story relevant to the location. Both the mattes and, I would call them foiled shadows were Rick in saturation and applied amazingly on the eyes. The mattes were extremely smooth and the foiled shadows had a sheen like nothing I've every experienced, ESPECIALLY , for the ridiculously low price point. I cannot properly articulate the beauty of the palettes aesthetic and how it translates into a remarkable eye look which would stop any stranger to inquire about your innovative and unique look.

Overall Product Presentation:
I'm not one that is easily impressed. I take after my mother in that regard. I've experienced a lot of wonderful things, I know how to determine quality, and I'm a difficult customer everywhere I go. Being that I own a multitude of eyeshadow palettes from a variety of brands I feel confident in being able to give an accurate assessment of high quality products. I plan on purchasing more of the destination themed palettes from Mavie Cosmetics. The quality of the eyeshadows is remarkable and unmatched by it's competitors. Given the price of the palettes and the fact that they do offer bundle deals, I can forgive the cost one must accumulate in order to receive free shipping, as it is a common sales/marketing tactic for brands in order to corral customers into purchasing more than they intend to or need. As a consumer, you must be equally smart and intuitive, so everyone has a part in that situation. I think the color combinations are unforgivable (in a good way) and so progressive and forward thinking that I can not help but applaud the well thought out color patterns, packaging, and appropriate brand presence on social media. I thoroughly enjoy these palettes and cannot wait to purchase more.
